The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

• Identity data which may include first name, last name, and email address.

• Technical data may include login data, internet protocol addresses, browser type and version, browser plug-in types and versions, time zone setting and location, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this site. Our website content management system uses functional and required cookies, together with analytics and performance cookies. Read more

• Usage data may include how you use our programmes and services.

• Marketing and communications data which may include your preferences in receiving marketing communications from us and our partners.

• Personal data of job applicants will be shared with interviewers, EIIP’s host organisation Social Investment Business for the recruitment exercise and with our IT service provider if access to the data is necessary for them to perform their roles. We share data with former employers to obtain references.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• To deliver business-to-business support in line with our primary mission of increasing social impact investing in equalities and human rights organisations

• To update you on news from the field of social impact investing by email and social media

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

• EIIP partner delivery organisations share the data you have given them when you signed up receive services we and they have delivered to you.

We use the information that you have given us in order to let you know of other services and give you updates relevant to the field.

We may share this information with partner delivery organisations for future services that advance our primary mission.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting comms@equalityimpactinvesting.org.

(b) We have a legitimate interest.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored in a double password protected customer relationship management database.

We keep identity data for 1 year after our last contact with you. We will then archive it in our customer relationship management system.

We keep technical data for periods ranging from during your browsing session to two years, dependent on cookie type. Our content management system automatically deletes your data after this period. Read more

We keep marketing and communications data for 1 year. We will then archive it in our customer relationship management system.

We keep usage data for 1 year. We will then dispose your information after anonymising it to as part of our evaluation process.

We keep job application data for 2 years. We will then dispose your information by deleting all application documents.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
